We had our first official start to our engagement season with Vivien and Austin. When we creeped on Vivien's engagement session Pinterest board we noticed her woodsy theme (which we loved) and headed to Sharon Woods Park, Columbus Ohio. It just so happened to be raining...really did you expect anything else? It was 80 and sunny all week until, FRIDAY! Thank you Ohio. But, Vivien and Austin were still down to shoot in the rain! The perfect couple to work with.
So, Daniel and I were driving from Circleville (about an hours drive) to Sharon Woods. When we arrived, Elle was being her usual self and lying on the very wet ground getting a pretty sweet shot. The clouds made for some perfect white space. Now, if you know Elle you know she loves white space...and really just the color white in general so this was her kind of day.
You know you have a pretty sweet couple when they show up with beer, am I right? They needed a little something to warm up with and turns out they make for some pretty cute pictures!
Can we talk about how excited I was there was a lake at the park? This lake made for a perfect backdrop for their session. Because their session was early October the leaves were just starting to change so Vivien and Austin wearing these pops of colors against the mainly green background looked fantastic!
Vivien and Austin are having their wedding at Camp Mary Orton so adding the cute little lantern to their session was an adorable touch as well as a piece of wood with their initials and wedding date carved into it! I love when our clients bring a little something from their wedding to their engagement shoots, I think it really adds something a little more personal. But honestly, when you have an awesome couple their personalities show all by themselves!
It's alway great when your clients have fun ideas like jumping on each others backs. Vivien was a amazing!
HAPPY WEDDING DAY!!! YOU ARE GOING TO BE THE PRETTIEST BRIDE!!
We ended the session with a cozy blanket which I think is a perfect final touch.
ENGAGEMENT TIP: Vivien and Austin decided to only wear one outfit the whole session and this way we were able to take more pictured in more locations. Instead of changing cloths they had more props:
5. Wood burned piece of wood
ENGAGEMENT TIP: Vivien and Austin also picked a great location. Sharron Woods Park had:
1. Open fields
2. Wooded areas
3. A lake
One location with different backdrops really helps make the most of the hour you have.
