Josh + Aubrey | Iron Gate Equestrian Center, OH Wedding | Columbus Wedding Photographer

This is a wedding you dream about. From the flowers to the venue to the bride and groom themselves. When Elle and I first met Aubrey, I knew I wanted to capture her wedding day. She is a stunning red head and seriously the sweetest. Finding out they planned on having the wedding at Iron Gate just sealed the deal...we were hooked! And yesterday marks a year this lovely couple said their "I do's" on the most beautiful rainy day in May.

We all know Ohio can have it's ups and downs...especially in May and June. But Aubrey and Josh didn't let the weather rain on their special day (metaphorically speaking...it actually rained on us twice). They were the most willing couple when it came to any and all of Daniel and my crazy photographer ideas.

For Aubrey's bridals, Daniel and I decided that taking her photos out on the second story balcony was the perfect compromise. This way Aubrey stayed dry before her No Look First Look and didn't get her dress wet. I am so happy with the results...but seriously, I don't think Aubrey could take a bad photo.

Once we had finished up Aubrey's bridals we had the whole bridal party post for one of our famous shots before their No Look First Look (for all our couples reading this and wondering what a No Look First Look is...check out our blog)! You can find this shot on The Knot.

Aubrey and Josh decided that a No Look First Look was exactly what they had wanted from the beginning. With Brett Loves Elle Photography, we love to do a walk through at your venue with you so we can scope out the best photography options before your special day! About a month or so before their wedding we met Aubrey, her mother, and her sisters at Iron Gate and made plans for all their photos. I am so happy we did and that they decided to have their No Look First Look where their ceremony was supposed to be. The rain caused us to move it inside...but just wait until you see how AMAZING it looked!!!

I love their private and romantic No Look First Look.

Aubrey and Josh had planned on having their ceremony on the front lawn but because of weather it was moved inside. For good reason, while they were exchanging cards and doing their No Look First Look it started to drizzle. They had no problem staying outside if it meant being together. The love they have for each other shows in all the photos we took this day and the rain wasn't going to change a thing.

Turns out the inside ceremony was stunning and one of my favorites EVER! Iron Gate, you have outdone yourself again. I hadn't met Josh before their wedding but to see the emotion when Aubrey walked down the aisle was beautiful and an honor to witness. We all knew that he could not wait for them to become man and wife.

After a beautiful ceremony, we headed outside and you can see from these photos that those skies while gorgeous were slightly ominous. But if I could have skies like this every wedding, I would be one happy wedding photographer. After checking with our couple we continued photos and I have never been happier with the results!

Once we finished with the bridal party photos, we sent them inside just in case the weather took a turn. The entire we had lightning headed our way, but yet again Aubrey and Josh were completely down to stay outside and they weren't disappointed with the results. I simply love love!!!

My favorite wedding shot was the shot outside in the meadow with the lightning in the background. This was my favorite because I had planned to have my wedding ceremony to be outside and all my pictures outside, and it turned out to be overcast and too risky to have anything outside except a few pictures when it wasn’t raining. This picture was taken right before it started pouring and just in the perfect moment with the lightning strike. The day was perfect despite the overcast weather.

These next photos were taken during the reception when we snuck the happy couple out for some more formals while the rain stopped! I love the difference in surroundings and the feel of our couple almost being alone in nature. Plus, who doesn't love GIANT BALLOONS!!!

Like Aubrey had said, a lot of our photos were supposed to be outside but the overcast weather made it a struggle...I am not one bit upset with how these inside photos turned out. I love the simple yet elegant and almost whimsy feel of their reception. And the natural light streaming in through the high windows with the twinkle lights just add the the feeling. Swoon.
