It's their wedding day!!! Daniel and I are so excited to be heading to Barn at the Backwoods to see this awesome couple. I've been texting, snapchatting, and Facebooking Heather for months now preparing for her special day and IT'S FINALLY HERE! I am hoping to see a cute little puppy today as well!
HAPPY WEDDING DAY HEATHER + CALEB!!!
For this engagement shoot Daniel, Brett, and I headed out to Ohio State Football Stadium. Now, whenever possible we all love to be at engagement shoots together but Elle wasn't feeling well and Brett and Elle's babysitter was out of town. So it was just me and the guys.
We got to the Stadium a little early so we could test the light and get a feel for the area. This was such an awesome location. We had been there for awhile and were just headed to the car to warm up a bit when we ran into our couple! They were in the cutest red car....waving like crazy! I liked them already!
Once they parked we all headed to the front of the Stadium. Heather and Caleb are the type of people you feel like you have known forever. So talking to them and taking their photos was really easy and fun! I don't think I've laughed so hard.
So the coolest part about this shoot was that Caleb and Heather had met while attending The Ohio State University. They knew everything about everything. Like why the flowers below were yellow and blue (Michigan colors) and gave us a tour of the school and their love story!
Like any OSU fan they had to take photos doing the O-H. Heather is always the H and she sure does make a super cute H at that!!! Now, while I was snapping photos of them I noticed that Caleb kind of looks like Nathan Scott from One Tree Hill...Does anyone else see it? Even Heather thought so and I almost called him Nathan on a few occasions.
Now, Heather had talked about wanting to shoot in the Stadium but to get onto the field there is normally a fee. That's something you have to pay for and plan ahead and we kind of just showed up...so we made the best of the situation and walked around the right side of the Stadium to find a door wide open! We just walked right in. We didn't get photos on the field but we got the very next best thing!!! The whole place pretty much to ourselves. I don't know who was more excited...that's not true Daniel and I were.
ENGAGEMENT TIP: If you have plans for taking photos at the Stadium I would advise planning ahead and booking it out. That is if you want photos on the field.
ENGAGEMENT TIP: When taking photos as OSU/The Stadium I would advise going when school is our for winter break, spring break, or something to that extent. We didn't have much trouble taking photos because there really weren't that many people on campus. And we all know how busy it can be normally...
This was a close to the field as we were allowed...the sign by their feet talks about not being on the field or they will prosecute. Needless to say we were happy with this!
After we had our moments in the Stadium which was where Heather and Caleb first toured during orientation, attended games, and graduated we moved to the building right behind the Stadium where they lived as freshman! They had the funniest stories and it was so fun to take a tour of their love story.
After we saw where they lived we got to see where they worked together at the gym! Then we headed to to lake where everyone used to jump into (now it's banned...I just found out). It looked freezing so I don't know how everyone did it! But it turned out to be an awesome backdrop for some more photos. I made Daniel head to the other side of the lake and snap some photos. While he was taking photos a couple of students were feeding ducks right next to him. We ended up with some hilariously huge ducks in the frame with our couple behind them. We were laughing nonstop.
Loving these intimate ring shots
To warm up real fast we stopped in for coffee. Then headed out to this adorable path for a finish to this amazing session. This was the last photo of the session and I love it! This couple seriously just has too much fun together.
