For Amy and Ryan's engagement session, they decided that they wanted to switch it up a bit and shoot in a coffee shop and have some cool bricks or an ivy wall in the photos. Now, you all know how much Daniel and I love visiting local coffee shops (we have literally been to almost all of them in Columbus) so searching for the perfect engagement shoot coffee shop was my goal. I narrowed it down to Roosevelt and Fox in the Snow (Amy loved Fox in the Snow). Daniel, Kikee, and I decided to scope out the location the day before the shoot to get some great ideas. Turns out Fox in the Snow was PERFECT and on the way I found an IVY WALL and a WHITE BRICK WALL across the street!!! I WAS THROUGH THE MOON! It was exactly what we wanted without having to travel too far.
We decided to meet up at Fox in the Snow at about 3 pm (most of our shoots tend to be about an hour to an hour and a half before sunset but Amy had a friend do her makeup so we worked with her schedule - also Fox in the Snow closes at 5 pm everyday). Sometimes you just work with what you've got! In this case, everything worked out and the photos looked fantastic.
We showed up a little early and thank goodness we did, the place was PACKED!! We grabbed a few tables after being there awhile and prepared for the shoot. Not too much longer Amy and Ryan walked in. AMY WAS ADORABLE!!!! She was rocking bell bottom jeans and a turtle neck (like seriously? ADORABLE). They grabbed some coffee (because can you go to a coffee shop for a shoot and not have a cup of coffee???) and we got started. They simply had a conversation and laughed together and I think these photos turned out pretty perfect! Let me know what you think...
It was getting a little hot inside...and there were seriously a million people inside, so we headed out to the back patio. There was a cute little bench that was perfect for them to cozy up on this chilly day. Can we also talk about the fact that their outfit colors were too perfect! Love the contrast of Ryan's shirt while Amy matched really well with this background. Outfit one was a success!!! You will also notice the famous fox...or not so famous fox (the famous fox is technically in the front of the building on the green wall - this fox is new).
Once we were finished at the coffee shop, Amy and Ryan changed and we headed to a vacant lot for some more awesome shots. Elle decided that a shot from a higher angle would be a great idea...so I got on Brett's shoulders and rocked it out. People driving by probably thought we were a bunch of weirdos but hey...anything for the shot, right???
Check us out!!! Turns out this wasn't too bad...until I had been up there too long and my thighs started to hurt and I kept laughing and hitting Brett in the head with my stomach. Needless to say, we now have a closer relationship.
I like to call this the engagement session of walls...as you will see we took them from wall to wall to wall. The nice thing was that these walls were literally right next to each other. This helped us to maximize our session.
We were wrapping up the session (at Fox in the Snow) during sunset and got some sweet photos. I love when our couples are super comfortable with us so much so that they start to have more fun with each other. You can see their fun loving personalities showing in these next few photos.

For our last location we drove to this sweet ivy wall a few blocks up from Fox in the Snow. Ryan being the genius he is, switched his shirt back to the maroon one so he wouldn't blend into the wall this time. We really did have such a blast with our couple. Can't wait for your wedding next year!!!
