Monica and Chris's wedding was our very first wedding of the year...and it just so happened to be on April Fool's Day. This way they can't forget the date...or maybe it will become an intense April Fool's Joke every year! If you know them, April Fools Day makes perfect sense. They love to have fun and honestly, to make fun of each other. "Both our families think that we are perfect for one another because we are never serious. We even both hate the color pink and glitter." (Monica)
My day started with Brett and Daniel trying to play a joke on me...to no avail. I'm that good. Thankfully, no other jokes were played on us that day...except maybe the weather. I was so excited to be shooting at the zoo. The zoo means animals and animals mean I get to pet them!!! THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!! I got to see a sea turtle, a sting ray, and pet a kangaroo!!! BEST DAY EVER!!!
Monica and Chris got engaged at Marble Lake in Michigan. She was so surprised despite joking about getting engaged all weekend with him. They even joked about him buying her a ring out of a gumball machine! Even when she asked about the ring, he simply said it was in the camper, but when she saw it she thought it was "out of this world." So, she didn't get her 75 cent ring...that's for sure
Now, who knew it would be so cold the day of their wedding? Oh, wait...it's OHIO!! Literally the week before it was 70 degrees and it dropped to less than 40. Why, OHIO...WHY??? But honestly, Monica and Chris didn't let the cold and wind ruin their special day. They were troopers the entire time!!
Once our bride and groom were dressed we headed to the zoo for their first look photos! If you don't know what a first look is or are wondering if you want to do a first look click the link and check out my blog "To First Look or Not to First Look."
This wedding party was a hoot...real MVP's here. With the wind, the sun, the clouds...and back and forth and back and forth, they seriously kept the fun through the entire time!
Now, you maybe thinking, "they had there wedding at the zoo so where's all the animals." You have to remember the zoo actually has more then one wedding venue. Our awesome couple decided they wanted to have it near the water and got all the awesomeness that comes with this choice...the kangaroos literally right behind the venue and the tour of the aquarium. I felt so important being able to travel through the aquarium for a private tour.
They even brought out some creatures for the bride, groom, and all their guests to see! Man was this kangaroo soft...who knew!?!? All in all, the team had a blast with Monica and Chris. Your were amazing, your guests were hilarious, and your venue was so much fun!!!
"Do not stress, it's hard work, and try to stay organized. DIY is sometimes more expensive then you think and takes a lot of time. So if there is no time do some research and see where you can get what you want or close to what you want for cheaper." -Monica, Wedding Tip
