Daniel and I headed out to this awesome couples engagement shoot super excited to experience Ohio State Campus. I am ALWAYS excited to hang out around campus and explore all there is. It is seriously BEAUTIFUL. Brittany and Jason were just the people to explore with. They were open for anything and everything. We parked and prayed we wouldn't get a ticket...our couple assured us that because we weren't students we were going to be just fine. Thankfully, THEY WERE RIGHT!! We got an awesome parking spot.
We started out on the other side of Mirror Lake because even though it was a Sunday campus was pretty busy. I guess everyone was preparing for the upcoming week. Brittany and Jason were seriously a blast. We tell all our couples that if they don't feel natural or comfortable in a pose simply shake it off and try again. BRITTANY AND JASON DID IT EVERY TIME!!! I was so happy. Brittany would simply say, "Hold on I gotta shake it out." These two were a couple of goofballs and made our time with them so enjoyable.
Jason and I met in 2005 at the young at of 14, in 8th grade. We had mutual friends and I heard through the grapevine that he liked me and I thought he was the cutest thing to walk the earth. We began instant messaging on AIM and within a couple of weeks we were "going out." We were very compatible in so many ways - we loved hanging out with our friends, having fun, and not to mention we loved joking around and goofing off. Our relationship continued throughout high school - overcoming many obstacles along the way.
After high school, Jason went to THE Ohio State University and I went to Kent State University where we both earned our degrees. Those 4 years were very trying for the both of us as we dealt with the hardship of having a long-distant relationship. We made it through the difficult times and after college graduation, Jason and I moved into our first home together.
Fast forward 2 years to Christmas Day 2015. Jason and I have a tradition of opening gifts with each other on Christmas morning before going to my parents house for breakfast and opening gifts. This year, Jason and I were running very late and quickly opened gifts at our house before we headed to my parents. After we finished opening gifts, I began frantically running around the house gathering everything we needed to take to my parents. I remember running round the house saying "We have got to go! We are going to be so late!" I was starting to walk down the hallway when Jason says to me "Wait a second. I have something else to give you." He was shaking and trembling so I knew something was going on before he even began talking. He began to cry and hugged me and told me that he couldn't imagine life without me and that he couldn't wait to spend the rest of his life with me; to which he got down on one knee and pulled out a box with the most gorgeous ring inside. Most of the conversation that followed, I don't quite remember because I was in complete shock. I remember saying, "Are you serious??!? ABSOLUTELY!" Being in complete shock and being extremely nervous, I took the ring out of the box and put the ring on my finger myself; I didn't even give him a chance to. We opened a bottle of champagne that Jason had got in celebration of our engagement! We, then, got to spend Christmas day with each other and our families, celebration the rest of our lives together!
I cannot say it enough, these two were seriously a blast to spend the evening with. Shout out to Jason for his humor and continuously nudging Brittany with "loosen up baby and be natural." I absolutely loved that!!
Congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding!!! Daniel and I are BEYOND excited to be shooting at Strongwater <3 Ahhhh, your wedding will be amazing!
