For this awesome mini shoot, we found ourselves at Sharon Woods Park. We love this location and were excited to shoot in the summer time and with two amazing couples...who just so happened to BOTH be getting married at Iron Gate. Small world! We sure do love Iron Gate and their killer team.
These two are getting married next year and the we couldn't be more excited for their wedding. Lauren loves horses so Iron Gate really makes perfect sense for them. From my understanding her horse is even going to make an appearance at their wedding! Good thing she's pretty great with horses...she's a vet! How cool is that? While walking around the park she even mentioned she should have brought her horse to the park. Oh my gosh that would have been incredible!!! I don't think we would have been able to hide that however.
We started these two off by the water. It was quieter and a lot less crowded. The funniest part of the ENTIRE shoot was probably the extreme struggle of having Brett (our Brett) trying to tell Brett (our to be groom) what to do. Or even Daniel and I trying to say, "okay Brett go ahead and look at Lauren." Or anytime we used their names and get completely confused!! It was seriously hilarious. Thankfully, Lauren and Brett thought it was hilarious and even cracked a few jokes making us all laugh. We do love a good shoot with lots of laughter!
You can definitely tell that these two sure do enjoy to laugh! I loved capturing their joy and their laughter.
HOW THEY MET
Brett and I met through a mutual friend, a classmate of mine in vet school was actually dating Brett's roommate. She asked one day if she could introduce us since she knew we were both single and thought we would hit it off. And we did!
Once we finished by the water we took a little stroll through the woods. I tried to take some photos off the beaten path...but I always tend to find POISON IVY and quite a few pickers!! Thankfully, I didn't get any on me but man was I freaking out. The worst of it was me picking all the pickers off my sweater. Thank goodness. This did give the team and the couple a great laugh.
I feel like Lauren kind of felt like home sitting up on that fence! They were an absolute blast to take photos of. Completely comfortable in front of the camera and together. Their wedding photos will be full of them just laughing at each other and together. It's going to be perfect.
Our proposal story is kinda simple but very us. Brett took me to Hocking Hills for a getaway weekend at the end of March. He planned on asking me at one of the scenic waterfalls on the Old Man's Cave trail loop. Of course that was the first beautiful weekend of the year so the trail was packed! He's a smart cookie though and nonchalantly requested we go off the trail a bit. He stopped and said he needed to get something from his pack. When I turned back around he was on one knee with a ring! As the story goes, I said yes!
Lauren and Brett, it was a blast to spend a little time with you. Enjoying your laughter and your love. The team is so excited about our upcoming wedding. How excited it's going to be to take photos with you both...and Lauren's horse!! Ahhhh!!! We will be seeing you next July.
Congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding!!!
