ALLIE + ALEX | GOODALE PARK & SHORT NORTH ENGAGEMENT SESSION, COLUMBUS OHIO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS

ALLIE + ALEX, GOODALE PARK/SHORT NORTH ENGAGEMENT SESSION, COLUMBUS OHIO, COLUMBUS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY, BRETT LOVES ELLE PHOTOGRAPHY

This past Sunday was one of those days where getting outside was a 'Must'. Which made it perfect for Allie & Alex's engagement session at Goodale Park and the Short North. In fact, we even brought the kids out to the park with their scooters!

The beginning of engagement sessions are always funny, I mean think about it, you are told to kiss and express your love while 3-4 cameras are in your face. But, Allie & Alex didn’t seem to mind and man did they look natural. A photographers dream!

WHEN YOUR BRIDE LOOKS LIKE RACHEL MCADAMS

Seriously though, doesn't she look like Rachel Mcadams? Once we finished at Goodale Park, outfits were changed and we headed over to the Short North for brick walls and alley ways. Thank you Short North for having everything we needed... EXCEPT FOR JENI'S -It was being remodeled! So instead, we headed to One Line Coffee for some cute through-the-window coffee shop photos.

WHEN YOUR BRIDE RUNS THROUGH TRAFFIC

After One Line, we planned for the Jeni's Sweet Treat Truck across the street, but they were about to leave! However, Allie being Allie, she totally FROGGERED (I just turned that into a verb) across the road with Alex right behind her. As expected, she got the driver to stick around for a few more minutes for a couple of Sweet Treat Truck photos. Worth it! We finished up the night with photos on the sidewalks of Short North and of course in the middle of the street. All in all a super fun time with these two. Your wedding will be so much fun come OCTOBER!

THE PROPOSAL STORY

On November 18, 2016 I came home from work to the most special engagement a girl could even dream of. Alex decorated my apartment with candles, rose petals, pictures and letters from the last 6 years, large "LOVE" balloon letters, and our song playing in the background. The most special part of it all was laying in plain site, the drawing from 2011 that said "Will you be my girlfriend?" He had saved it all these years for this special moment, all the time I thought he had lost it. He got down on one knee and he asked me to marry him and that was the best day that I became the luckiest girl in the world. That was the best day of my life. Soon though, I will have a day that will outshine any of these past best days. On October 20, 2017, Alex and I will exchange our vows, share a first dance, eat lots of cake, and become the newest Mr. and Mrs. Beebe.

On 4.5.2011, you asked me to be your girlfriend and I said yes. My young, 17 year old self was falling hard for you and I remember telling my mom “I’m going to marry that boy one day.” Flash forward 6 years to 4.5.2017 and we get to celebrate our last dating anniversary. On 10.20.2017, I am going to walk down the aisle to you, we’re going to say our vows, and we’re going have a new anniversary as husband and wife. I love you Alex Beebe and I am so thankful to have you as my best friend and my soulmate.

ALLIE KILLED IT IN THIS LITTLE RED DRESS!

THE BEGINNING OF THEIR LOVE STORY

Our story began in Fall of 2010 at a small, Quality Inn hotel in Northern Ohio when we were both there attending a youth group retreat. We had known of one another, but we had never met or even talked prior to this event. Which is kind of funny because our moms had worked together for years and our little brothers were good friends. Eventually, we ended up chatting and spending time getting to know one another. We sat by each other at meals, we flirted in the pool, and our youth group pastor even "put a little bug in each of our ears" that our moms would just love it if we dated. After the retreat ended and we were back at home, Alex messaged me on Facebook (this was 2010 and all) and after talking on there for a while, he eventually got my number and we started "talking" as we would say in high school. Alex and I became really good friends over the next month or so and he asked me out on a date to the movies. I don't remember what movie we saw, but what I remember most is walking out of the theater and seeing the most beautiful snowfall I had ever seen. Alex, being the gentleman that he is, walked me to my car and gave me a hug. It was the best first date ever. Now we get to the part in the story that Alex loves to tell. Apparently, I shut him down hard after this wonderful date. The facts of the matter are, I did text him and tell him that I just wanted to stay friends, because I really valued his friendship and I cared about him a lot. I didn't want to risk jumping into a relationship and ruining that. So, a few months go by and Alex and I are still talking and he continues to be the best friend I've ever had.

WILL YOU BE MY GIRLFRIEND?

At this point, I was really falling for Alex and I wanted to take the risk of becoming more than just friends. His birthday was coming up, and I decided to give him a "pair" of IX-Indoor Amusement Park tickets but I only put one of them in his birthday card and I wrote that I had the other and we could go together. He got my hint, and a couple days later when we were both and his house babysitting (yes, we babysat kids together while our moms had bible study) and coloring pictures with the kids, he drew me a special picture. He asked me what I thought of his drawing and when I took a look, I noticed it said "Will you be my girlfriend?" I grabbed a crayon and wrote yes underneath making it official that as of April 5, 2011 we were boyfriend and girlfriend. Over the last 6 years, we have made so many memories together and we've also gotten each other through some very hard times in life. We have traveled together, we went to college together, we've laughed and we've cried, and we wouldn't change a single moment that has gotten us to where we are today.

And all along I believed I would find you.” Last night, Alex asked me to marry him and of course I said YES! The last 5 years have been a fairytale and we are so excited to adventure through the rest of our lives together.
