AMY + KAI | PARK OF ROSES ENGAGEMENT SESSION, COLUMBUS OHIO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS

AMY+KAI ENGAGEMENT PREVIEWS

AMY + KAI | PARK OF ROSES ENGAGEMENT SESSION, COLUMBUS OHIO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY, BRETT LOVES ELLE PHOTOGRAPHY

I love mini sessions for the pure fact that we can meet up with a few of our couples in one day. I love seeing them all!! Amy & Kai are getting married NEXT MONTH. May 19th to be exact and at the Brown School Barn. I've know Amy since I first started school in Ohio so it was awesome to hear from her all these years later... and to shoot her wedding no less! I cannot wait to catch up with so many wonderful people at her wedding and see her walk down the isle!

For this shoot we headed to the Whetstone Park of Roses. Now, the roses don't bloom until the middle to end of May BUT it's still the coolest location for minis. I like it because there aren't all the crazy colors and there are 100% less people. It's like we are having our own little moment in the park with our couples. I LOVE THAT!

I LOVED when we told Kai to fake laugh. When he fake laughed... we ALL laughed for real! It was perfect!

THE PROPOSAL STORY

In the Fall of 2016, Kai insisted he come over. I had had a long day and wasn't really wanting to hang out. To be nice, I told him to come over anyways. When he arrived, he came with all of my favorites; flowers, candles, card, and chocolates. As I sat down to read the card, he looked at me and said, "I can't imagine life without you. Will you be my forever?" I of course accepted! That night was sweet and perfect for so many reasons. I am thankful God allowed our paths to cross and we are excited to spend "forever" with one another.

THE BEGINNING

In January 2016 we connected via Christian Mingle, yes (to my surprise it can work). After a few phone calls and texts we decided to meet for coffee. Kai was different he always asked to call rather than text which seems few and far between these days, asked a lot of questions, genuinely involved in conversation, he opened all the doors, his chivalry behavior sparked my interest.

The night we met for coffee I was late getting home from work, which meant I was late getting to our first date, which was a total disappointment for him, as he's very punctual. Long story short he was annoyed, so he was no longer interested. I brushed it off and said let's stay connected and be friends.

During this time he was studying for a special license he needed for work, he ended up not passing his big test right away and was frustrated. Me, to be nice, invited him over with some friends for dinner. He could never turn food away, never. So, of course he accepted. We hit it off right away and spent the entire evening talking, so we decided to go out again. We connected so easily and enjoyed spending time together.

I am thankful God allowed our paths to cross and we are excited to spend “forever” with one another.
